Boat Macuco Safari

Duration: 2 hour(s) - Location: Foz

The great adventure begins with a safari in open trucks that allows an overview of the Iguaçu National Park along the trail. During the course of the 3-kilometer drive through the jungle, guides will point out species of flora and fauna of the park. Orchids, palm hearts, bromeliads, centennial trees, and wild animals are some of the things you may see.

The second portion will be a trail of 600 meters (optional) that takes the visitor to a waterfall called Salto Macuco. With the waters falling from a 20-meter height, this trip will refresh you.

The last stop is the birth of Macuco Safari, which is the boarding point for passengers. You will be given life jackets, and plastic packaging for protection of your cameras and other equipment. The boat travels up-river, passing the canyon, and navigating the rapids at a comfortable speed that allows you to appreciate the landscape. Rocks, animals and greenery make up the views; right up to the base of the magnificent waterfall, near the "great horseshoe", also known as "the devil's throat." Be prepared to experience a beautiful sight of rainbows, lovely skies, mists and water all at once!

As you approach the part of the waterfall nicknamed "Three Musketeers", watch out as the captain steers the boar close enough to give a fast and fun "bath" to passengers. You are advised to carry an extra pair of clothing, as at the end of this trip you are sure to need a change of clothes.
